Poker is a card game where players try to win money by having the best hand. While it may seem like a lot of luck, most forms of poker require considerable skill and strategy.<\/p>\n
Before any cards are dealt, all players must ante something (the amount varies by game, our games are typically a nickel). After that they receive their cards and make a decision about whether to bet or fold.<\/p>\n
The most common type of poker is Texas Hold’Em. There are many other variations, but most of them involve the same basic rules.<\/p>\n
In most poker games, betting starts when the first player makes a bet. Afterwards, the player to the left must either “call” by putting in the same number of chips as the previous bet or “raise,” by adding more than enough chips to call.<\/p>\n
There are 10 ways to win in poker, from lowest to highest: High Card; Pair of Cards; Two Pairs; Three of a Kind; Straight; Flush; Royal Flush; Full House; Four-of-a-Kind; and Five-of-a-Kind. In some cases, a wild card can break ties.<\/p>\n
The best hand wins the pot. However, in some games the best hand is the lowest-ranked hand, and in other games the pot is divided equally among the highest and lowest hands.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
